Books have always been a favorite toy of my son’s. It started with putting all the books in the box and then taking them out and then putting them in….for hours! Then it escalated to mom reading them to him….for hours! Then it moved to picking them out at the library and bringing home bags…and reading for hours! Now it has changed into picking out a few words and having him read them when we get to them. His love for books grows every day. In fact, today at the store when he got to choose between a new book and a swimming pool he chose the book!!

Beckham’s favorite part is where his name is written in the stars. Before I can even finish the words on the page he is yelling out “B-E-C-K-H-A-M!” He recognizes his name and loves reading all the places it says “Orem”.
In fact, Beckham loved this pirate book so much we decided to have a pirate themed birthday party when he turned 3 a couple of weeks ago. Because of this book pirates weren’t a scary thing or a mean man. They were fun, silly, and childlike. I like that he likes pirates and looking for buried treasure.
My Pirate Adventure retails for $34.99 and is worth every penny. It is a well made, 9″x 9″ hardback book that is the perfect size for little hands. It is personalized in every detail….including the illustrations! I mean not only was his name in the stars, but his initials are on the mast of the ship, Orem was written on several areas of the photos, the letter B was on his hat, and the pirate was even blonde!!! It just doesn’t get any cuter than this. I would rather my son fall in love with books over video games any day!!
