When I think back to when I was a little girl, I just KNOW I would have loved to have had one, or all of these amazing Hearts for Hearts Girls dolls! Every doll is incredibly unique and beautiful! I fell for them instantly!
“Every Hearts for Hearts Girls Doll represents a real girl from a real place around the world. Each has her own story to tell and ideas about how to make life better for her family, community, country, and the world around her.”
Playmates Toys is launching a line of multicultural dolls that are changing the world this holiday season. With a lot of extra social value, each doll represents a girl who is working to change the world in ways unique to her home country. Story booklets included with each doll show young girls how their peers in other countries live, and how they contribute to their families, communities, countries, and the world. To emphasize the importance of charitable acts and giving, Playmates Toys is donating a portion of each sale to a non-profit organization. The launch non-profit partner is World Vision, a 60-year-old humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families, and their communities worldwide to tackle the causes of poverty and injustice. World Vision assists roughly 100 million people in nearly 100 countries throughout all of the regions represented by Hearts for Hearts Girls—Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, and the Americas. Girls will also be able to visit a kid-safe Hearts for Hearts Girls website containing games, activities, and real stories about other girls from around the world.
“What if you could change the world just by buying a doll? You can, with Hearts For Hearts Girls™ dolls! Each doll is a girl that wants to make a difference in her life, community, and culture. When you buy a Hearts For Hearts Girls doll, a portion of the purchase price is donated to children’s causes in those countries.”
I was so excited when we got to choose a doll to review for Hearts For Hearts Girls! I let Ava choose which one she wanted and she chose the beautiful Consuelo doll! So many gorgeous dolls to choose from, but she knew exactly which one she wanted right away! When Consuelo arrived in the mail we had a little celebration! There was just no possible way this one could wait until Christmas! Ava was so excited to open up the box and when she saw her doll she was just over the moon! Honestly, we couldn’t get her out of the packaging quick enough! Ava just sat and brushed her hair, touched her earrings, and really just soaked in her new doll! She has since then spent so much time playing with her doll and introducing her to everyone {so cute!}. We have also spent a lot of time reading about Consuelo. She came with a fun book that tells all about her life and Ava loves to sit and listen to me read it, or try and read it to me. She truly does capture the colorful warmth of Mexico! I really love having such a cultural doll in the house really allowing me to expose Ava to other cultures and ways of living! It is so easy to forget how enormous the world is.
Like all the Hearts For Hearts Girls Dolls, Consuelo stands 14 inches high and has a pose-able, smooth vinyl body, and high-quality rooted hair for hours of doll play. She has bracelets, earrings, and bright clothes that are authentic to her country. The doll also comes with a friendship bracelet for your daughter & a little storybook about her life. Hearts For Hearts Girls has created dolls that you know you will keep forever, they are such high quality. From the tiny details to the big things, Consuelo is perfect! Any one of these dolls would be an amazing Christmas gift for your daughter, niece, or any little girl in your life! You will get a little extra warm fuzzy feeling knowing that a portion of your purchase will go to helping children from the country your doll represents!! Wonderful!“Consuelo is a generous and imaginative ten-year-old from Mexico City. She knows all about food, for her parents own a bakery, and everyone in the family helps out.But there are many hungry children living on the streets of Mexico City; their yearning faces touch Consuelo’s heart. With her mother’s help, she makes a little restaurant in the back alley to feed these children-but is surprised when it turns into a challenge.”
