Pump It Up

I know y’all are aware of my struggle with fitness and weight since the birth of my children…who are now 6 & 4. Not sure why I have such a struggle, but I also know I am not alone. Many women struggle with weight. I know what I need to do to lose weight; I have done it before, but for whatever reason, after children, it has been so much harder. Like a million times harder than before. I have finally come to a place where I know I need to make changes. Every day I am trying to move more and make healthier choices when I am eating meals or snacks. Taking things one day at a time and not focusing so much on the big picture has helped me tremendously. The weight may be coming off more slowly, but it is definitely coming off, so I can’t complain. Slow & steady wins the race, right??

Since I stay home with my children it can be difficult & expensive to join a gym and pay for childcare. I have found several amazing online resources that provide incredible & FREE workouts! One of my favorites is Bodyrock! I think I have shared about them before, but their workouts are wonderful, easily modified for beginners, & the online community can’t be beat. As their workouts have evolved they have begun including very specific equipment you can easily use at home. They started featuring the T-Grip Barbell a few months ago and immediately I knew I had to have it! Not only is it great to include in the Bodyrock workouts, but also for my own routines.

I am not even kidding when I say I was watching my UPS truck drive by daily waiting for my T-Grip Barbell to arrive! I was so beyond excited to add this into my workout routine and when it finally arrived Hollis helped me unpack it and we got to work on some exercising right away! {yes, my kiddos like to exercise with me. Burns some of their energy and honestly they motivate me and cheer me on! I mean, if my 4 year old can do it, I can do it, too!} Immediately I was pleased with the size and weight of the bar; also the extra intensity it added to my workouts! It is so simple to incorporate into the most simple of exercises to make them more intense; which is hopefully building muscle and burning calories! The T-Grip Barbell offers a unique design allowing you to grip the bar multiple ways for different exercises. A simple workout to incorporate the T-Grip Barbell would be:

50 seconds work/10 seconds rest:

1. mountain climbers

2. squats with the T-Grip Barbell on your shoulders

3. burpees

4. lunges {alternating legs} with the T-Grip Barbell on your shoulders

I am no personal trainer or fitness guru, but if you go through these four exercises 3-4 times, I promise you, you’ll get a great HIIT workout and the added weight from the T-Grip Barbell will make all the difference in the world!

T-Grip Barbell Features:

  • high quality, durable design
  • lightweight and great for all users
  • for amateurs and pros
  • full body, fat blasting workouts

The T-Grip Barbell is a fantastic addition to any at home workout program. It is easily stored and so simple to use. No cables or tricky set up. Just put those weights on and get to it; no fuss!

A few of my favorite T-Grip Barbell Exercises {I usually do them if I have a few minutes here or there during the day or even during commercials if I am watching TV}
