While I am on my little journey to be ‘Better Than Before’ I love finding new food to try out. No one wants to eat the same ol’ food day after day. I love finding healthy versions of my favorite foods and especially love when I can support local companies.Love & Hummus Co. creates “sustainable Mediterranean food and certified organic hummus”. It is all “handmade in small batches and scooped into Earth-friendly packaging for superior taste and quality.” Vegan, non-GMO, wheat free and no citric acid, fillers, additives or preservatives are all qualities of this healthy hummus.I loved being able to try out Love & Hummus Co. hummus. I received three flavors: toasted tahini, spicy harissa, and roasted lemon & thyme.

Let’s start with toasted tahini. First off, tahini is paste made from ground, hulled sesame seeds. This hummus is a delicious nutty flavored hummus with no oil added. It is super creamy! I love it!! I could have eaten the whole jar in one sitting, a perfect hummus for the colder months.Next up, spicy harissa. “If you want more than just a hit of heat you’ll love the complexity and layers of flavor” in the harissa hummus. With hot chili peppers, exotic spices, and cold pressed virgin olive oil heat will build with each bite. Now I am not a spicy girl so I am not a super hug fan of this one. It was good but too spicy for this white girl. I shared it with a major hummus lover though and he said he could eat it right out of the jar.Lastly is the roasted lemon & thyme. This hummus is a little tart and a little sweet. Made with agave nectar it is perfectly sweet. The way lemon tastes in this hummus is so amazing. This is a great hummus for the summer time.
Love & Hummus Co. can be purchased from the following stores:
You can purchase it online too. For a 4 jar sampler it is $32…not bad!…BUT you do have to pay $56 for overnight shipping on cold packs since this is a perishable item. This is completely understandable, however, $56 is a little steep for me for 4 jars of hummus…but that is coming from a SAHM of two kids and a husband who works at a non-profit charity. For some that isn’t a big deal, but for me I will have to find it in stores. It is worth finding in stores though! It is even worth driving a little bit just to get it.
