Summertime is the perfect time to play outside and get wet. Not only is playing in the water fun but it keeps you cool under the hot sun. Last summer Beckham was just barely walking so outdoor water play was very minimal. This year he is all about playing in the sun and water.We celebrated Beckham’s 2nd birthday this last Saturday. We hosted it in our backyard and we joined by friends and family. We put up a slip and slide and played with water guns and water balloons. A bounce house was a must for a 2 year old. Also, you can’t celebrate in the sun without some delicious summertime treats. We ate watermelon, grapes, oranges, tons of veggies, chips, Otter Pops, popcorn, and washed it down with lots of beverage choices.
Don’t mind the funky lettering. Beckham literally stuck his hand in the top of the cake 2 minutes after my hubby brought it home. 2 year olds! Didn’t he know I hadn’t even gotten a picture yet?!Since it is a birthday there of course had to be some cake. We had the most delicious Wiggles birthday cake and served it to our guests on Dixie paper plates. We used Dixie because they are sturdy. No one wants cake in their laps. I found these plates at my local grocery store. I wish they had a different pattern on them (they don’t really say little boys birthday party) but it was between Dixie and no name flimsy plain white paper plates that I would have had to triple up. I chose Dixie of course.
