Dreamsicle, a stylish new collection of school and office supplies from Carolina Pad, was inspired by the Girls on the Run mission and its founder, Molly Barker and designed by JACK!E (www.jackiemcfee.com) . Girls on the Run inspires 3rd through 8th grade girls to stay true to themselves and live free from societal stereotypes. The 12 week after-school curriculum innovatively weaves training for a 5k run with lessons that empower girls to celebrate their bodies, honor their voices and embrace their gifts. Girls on the Run has more than 150 councils across North America, serving more than 50,000 girls annually.
Carolina Pad sent me their Dreamsicle Collection for review. The products were in beautiful, girly colors without being too cutesy, so a 3rd grader, 8th grader or a grown-up can use them. Some of the notebooks come with letter stickers, allowing you to personalize it and make it your own, and the journal has inspiring quotations from Eleanor Roosevelt, Louisa May Alcott, Albert Einstein and others throughout its pages. It is so hard to be a girl sometimes. I remember being teased when I was a kid, and even now I see women tearing down other women. As a mother of girls, I am thankful for organizations such as Girls on the Run that lift up girls so that they can become strong women and lift up the generation after them.
