Comfortable Sleep When Pregnant Its True

There are so many things that happen to women when we are pregnant.  Our bodies grow and change, stretch marks show up, dry skin, acne, crazy hormones…you name it!  The things we trade all in the name of a sweet, adorable, precious baby.  Good thing a bad nights sleep doesn’t have to be one of those things we give up.  Don’t believe me?  Well listen up!Bump Nest, founded in June, is helping mommies to be get a great nights rest so they can take on the world the next day.   “Bump Nest began with the idea that yes, a pregnancy pillow needs to be comfortable, but it also needs to provide therapeutic value.  Such a pillow should actually help women sleep in accordance with doctor recommendations, which is good for both mommy and baby.” These pregnancy support pillows relieve the “aches and pains associated with pregnancy, including Sciatica, Restless Leg Syndrome, lower back pain, and Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction.”

When I was pregnant with my first I didn’t have a pregnancy support pillow.  In fact, I had lots of really bad nights sleep.  Not only was I waking up to go to the bathroom multiple times during the night but my back would ache, my hips would hurt, and sometimes I felt like my stomach was being stretched like crazy just so it could lay on the bed while I was on my side.  I read that I should sleep on my left side…something hard for a back and belly sleeper to adjust to.  I came up with a great idea—pillows on either side of my body.  This would give me support while encouraging me to sleep on my side.  Night after night I would wake up and find all of my pillows on the floor.  Also, my husband complained that I was taking up too much of the bed with my pillows.  My really great idea wasn’t so great.  Sleep is one thing I don’t count on when I am pregnant. But not any more!I was so excited when the Stone Scallop Bump Nest Pregnancy Pillow arrived.  I looked forward to going to sleep that night.  (A first in a long time!)  The material is an amazing cotton/ polyester blend.  It feels like a jersery knit; it is so soft.  It is a soft firm…the perfect pillow!
That night I had the most amazing sleep.  I woke up refreshed, not achy, and still on my left side.  My husband said he noticed that I didn’t toss and turn like I had been.  In fact he may or may not have said I was snoring like man.  (THAT is a sign of great sleep!)  I love that the case zips off so I can throw it in the washing machine or switch out the case when I need a change.   I like that it wraps around my body.  This keeps me from kicking the pillow off in the bed in the middle of the night.  It also gives me great back support and encourages me to sleep on my side.  I love having the pillow between my knees.   This takes the pressure off my hips and has actually gotten rid of the horrible pinch I have had in my hip for the last 3 months.  HALLELUIAH!  I wish I would have known about the Bump Nest sooner.  I would have gotten better sleep a long time ago.
