Here’s my top Ten tips for surviving this Holiday Season:

-Laugh:Laughter is such a great thing. Step back when situations get hard and have a good chuckle. If you can laugh at yourself you can definitely get through that family dinner with your annoying cousin. Right?
-Plan ahead: Print out a calendar and post it on the fridge. Then have the kids and hubby mark on it when they have activities, Christmas parties, family parties, and other holiday events. That way you know what is going on and you can plan ahead for instance and bake those holiday cupcakes for your son’s classroom, rather than running to the store the night before to pick some up. You will find it will help you to stay stress free.
-Stay Organized: Make a list and check it twice. Write down everyone you need to buy presents for this year. Then keep it in your purse. As you shop cross the items you pick up off the list. This way you won’t have to run out last minute for gifts. You will know just what you need each time you visit the store.
-Relax: Light some holiday candles and just sit back and smell the fresh cut Christmas Tree. Turn the lights down and listen to some holiday music. You will find it will put you in a wonderful mood and help keep your holiday’s bright.
-Be Selfish: Take some much needed time for yourself. Go get a pedicure or shop for yourself. I mean you have to do everything for everyone else as a mom. Why not take sometime for yourself? You deserve it.
-Give: If you can do one thing this holiday season give. Take a new toy to the local toys for tots program, or drop off some much needed items at the woman’s shelter. Simply Give! It always puts the season back into perspective.
-Stay in your PJ’s: Shop Shop Shop your heart out online. With a few click click clicks you can have everything hand delivered to your front door. Ohh that is so nice to not have to fight traffic and the crowds.
-Play: When the snow falls, go outside with your kiddos and play in it. Build a snowman and have a snowball fight. Your kids will think you are so much fun and you will love spending the time with them. Get the hubby out there too and make it a family event. Grab a few sleds and go sledding. Oh how I love sledding. So much fun!
-Create-I find that when I craft, I have so much fun and I really relax. Using a creative outlet always helps me to get back to a stress free level. Speaking of creating a great place to use your creativity is on your very own holiday cards. Tiny Prints Christmas cards are such a great way to surprise your family and friends. When they receive your cards in the mail they will bring a smile to their face. You can choose from hundreds of cards and you simply upload your family photos, add a message, and you are set. 10-Eat, Drink, and Be Merry-We all know what that means. Eat lots of yummy food, drink up…this may be the only thing that will get you through those family dinners, and Be Merry. Smile and enjoy the warmth that they holiday season brings.
