I love natural scents. When you smell them they can take you to a whole new place and time. They can bring you a peace and calm to your home, or even take you back to the kitchen where you remember your grandmother baking fresh sugar cookies. My hubby is a big fan of the fresh pine smell. Each Holiday season he asks me to pick up a pine scented candle so he can enjoy they smell all year long. I don’t mind it either. It’s such a great smell to have in our home. Some other scents that I adore are Vanilla, lavender, and fresh rain. Oh, I just love the smell after a fresh rain has fallen outside.
We also have a family tradition that annually comes every year after Thanksgiving. We pack up the truck and the entire family and head up into the mountains in search of the perfect Christmas Tree for our Family room. The kids absolutely love getting all bundled up to head out in the snow to play and to look for our holiday tree. I love going too. I love the tradition of bringing home a Fresh Christmas tree for our family to enjoy all December long. I have to admit though I am very picky and it has to be the perfect tree. Not to tall, and not too short, and just the right amount of fullness.
The smell of the branches brings such a wonderful scent to our home. I love being in the family room and just taking int he scent. I even take the leftover branches from trimming the tree and make them into a holiday wreath to adorn our front door or entry way. Wow, I can almost smell it now. I can’t wait until we head up this year to get that perfect Christmas tree. Isn’t it amazing what the wonder sense of smell can do and bring out? What are some of your favorite scents?
