Stay Cold And Flu Free This Fall Lysolcoldandflu

With the weather changing, those pesky flu and cold bugs start to move in on us. You can’t see them….but believe me they are there. I recently battled a cold that spread through my kids and back to me and it never seemed to end. I ended up with a cold for over 4 weeks. Yuck! Since my kids aren’t in school yet, I don’t have to worry as much about those germs being brought home from school. I do however have to worry about myself and my hubby bringing them home from work and the shopping scene. We try to be as careful as we can be, but germs….you know how they work!

Here’s some great ways to help you stay germ free:

It is so important to teach your kiddos the importance of clean hands. We actually have a timer near our sink that we set to teach our little guy how long to wash. Fun soaps are also a great way to keep them interested in the process too.

Tissues, and noses!

I always keep a box of tissues on the counter in the fall/winter months. Then we have easy access to them and those germs stay where they need too and that helps to not spread them around the family.

Marking Cups.

I started assigning colored cups to my kids to prevent them from sharing germs. They now know which cup is theirs and they love that! Mommy and daddy love it too because it means less dishes at the end of the day.

Teaching my kids to sneeze.

If you have had a baby then you know they love to sneeze all over you. Am I right? My little 12 month old girl will be sitting right next to me and the next minute later she is standing in my face and SNEEZE! It’s everywhere on me. While she is still to young to understand that she needs to use her arm….my little guy has been learning to sneeze in his sleeve or elbow. That way he isn’t germing up his hands. It’s been very helpful and saved us a lot of snotty messes to clean up to say the least. What do you do to help keep your family germ free? Share your tips. We would love to hear them.
