10 Tips For Planning A Unique Baby Shower

Since I am almost due…I have been thinking a lot lately about baby showers! I have a friend who is due this Fall and I would love to throw her a big bash. But where do I start?

Here are my top 10 tips for planning the ultimate unique baby shower:

1- Pick a theme: Talk to the mom-to-be or even her hubby (if you want it to be a surprise) and find out what her nursery theme will be. Then plan your shower around it. For example maybe she is doing a jungle theme. So you can throw a Jungle Shower!

2- Invistations will set the mood: Tiny Prints baby shower invitations are the perfect way to start off your shower! Your guests will see your theme even before they come. Make sure you get your invitations in the mail with plenty of time for your guests to RSVP and make plans to attend.

3- Be unique: Look for fun items at the dollar store or in the dollar section of your local retailer. You may be able to come up with some fun ideas that won’t break the bank and will make the event really unique. Maybe use solid paper products and then add accents instead of making everything over the top.

4- Prepare ahead of time: It is so much easier to enjoy an event when you have prepared the days before. For instance hire a caterer or order the cake or cupcakes from a local bakery. That way you can just pick them up and you are ready to go.

5-The internet is your best friend: From party ideas, to games and favors the internet is the best source for inspiration. Simply google thoughts like “baby shower party favors” and you will be amazed at all the ideas you will find.

6-If you set a theme invite your guests to bring something for the baby that ties into it. Maybe you don’t have a specific theme…then give the guests a time of day for their present. Example: Midnight. Your guest could bring something that has to do with sleeping like a blanket.

7- Instead of doing the shower at the traditional time of day how about a brunch or even a mock-tail party!

8- Make the mommy-to-be feel extra special by tying in some of her favorite things. All in all the mom is the one who has carried the baby for the whole 9 months!

9-All in All….Have fun: Don’t stress the small stuff and make the atmosphere relaxing and fun for the mom-to-be!

10- Don’t take on more than you can handle. You want to me able to be a happy hostess on the day of the event. So make sure you will still have time to mingle and be present rather than cooking in the kitchen the entire event.
