Tech Shopping This Christmas? {5 Helpful Tips}

If I know one thing about Tech Shopping….It’s that I don’t know anything. I always leave the Tech Shopping to my hubby. He knows everything about gadgets and such and well I know nothing. I know there are a lot of us moms out here that want to buy something “tech” for our hubby’s this Christmas so I thought it would be great to share 5 tips to make it easier:

  1. Check out the reviews. When it comes to Ipods and phones, printers, and computers you want to know if it’s reliable. Thousands of consumers have already purchased the items you are looking at buying so why not tap into their knowledge on the product. I always google it and read what consumers are saying. That way you can make sure you are buying something that will stand up to time and your hard earned money.
  2. Price comparison shop. I always use shopping.com when I want to buy something. It will pull up the item and where you can get it. Along with that it will tell you how much it will cost to ship it to you too. Then you can compare stores side by side and find the “Best Deal” out there. Then purchase and enjoy knowing you got the best price!
  3. Watch for online deals. There is always a deal going on somewhere online. I love using shopping bargain sites like slickdeals, and a fullcup. People just like you are posting where they are finding the hottest deals and you can snag them too at a fraction of the price. Plus you can find coupons and discount codes galore to save you even more money.
  4. Ask friends and family. I find that most of the time my friends and family can point me into the right direction when I want to purchase an item that is “tech” related. Like this Christmas my hubby is getting a blu ray player. I had no clue which one to get him? There are tons out there. My friend told me about one, and it turns out it has the features that my hubby would want. So that’s the one he is getting.
  5. Ask about warranties. If I know one thing about warranties, it’s that I wished we had gotten one on our 42″ plasma tv a few years back. It went out on us and was going to cost us over $500+ to fix. Ouch! I wish we had paid the small amount to have it covered. Not all warranties are needed, but I highly recommend them on high value tech purchases. Do you have any tips to add? Leave a comment and let us know them. We love your advice. Don’t be scared to Tech Shop this holiday season and use the internet to help you. There is a wealth of knowledge on products to help you get the best deals and the best items! Plus there is always someone in the store who has a wealth of knowledge and can offer some great advice. Plus you can try it out hands on too!
