I love my record player, It might just be one of my favorite things. I have been looking for a table for it for a while now, something unique with a lot of character. My mom found the perfect record player table at a local estate sale and gifted it to me for my birthday {only fitting as she also gifted me the record player}. It is such a unique piece and it has been a fabulous addition to our home. As soon as I got it I knew I wanted to paint it and Chalk Paint® Decorative Paint by Annie Sloan is a perfect match!

As soon as my Chalk Paint Decorative Paint by Annie Sloan arrived I was itching to get started on my project! I chose the Chalk Paint® Decorative Paint by Annie Sloan color Provence in addition to the Clear Soft Wax to use on my record player table as I knew the soft blue would be a fabulous accent color in our home. Before painting I spent a long while browsing through Annie Sloan’s Quick and Easy Paint Transformations book full of rich and beautiful photos of transformations using Annie Sloan unfolded products and watching videos on the Annie Sloan Home YouTube channel. They were both so helpful and inspiring; watching her in action was quite magical and informative as well. I am very much a visual learner, so the videos helped me prepare tremendously {I highly recommend watching a couple before you get started on your own projects}. It was so fun painting my record table. The Chalk Paint® went on beautifully and the Annie Sloan Pure Bristle Brush was an absolute dream to work with. It really allowed me to easily get into all the nooks and crannies of the table and give my piece a bit of texture. I was so excited to see the finished product! That is where I usually run into trouble with my little DIY projects; I just want to see it completed and skip all the work to get there! I really tried to take my time on this project and make sure I was going to do the table justice in the end. I ended up needing to apply two coats of the Provence Chalk Paint® to achieve my desired look. After painting I moved on to applying the Soft Clear Wax. The Soft Clear Wax went on so smooth. I brushed on a layer of wax and then rubbed off all but a thin layer to give it a little sheen. I also took a piece of fine sandpaper and roughed up a few of thecorners allowing the dark wood to show through a bit. I am thrilled with the finished product and already have another project in mind! Our side tables in the living room are in need of a makeover ASAP and Provence will look amazing on them; tying the record player table in with our other living room decor!
