Today I was watching television and saw Nate Meikle, author of Little Miss: a father, his daughter, and rocket science, on my local morning show. (If you haven’t entered to win 1 of 5 copies of his books do it now. Go HERE) He talked about how he takes his kids to the library every two weeks and checks out about 50 books. Ugh! The put my Mother of the Year status to shame….I thought getting 5 was good. HA! He also explained that they don’t just pick any books. They make sure they are getting the good books. They look up book lists and reserve only the really good ones. He said most of the times that books on the shelf are there because they aren’t the best ones. The ones that aren’t in the library are checked out for a reason. That made me realize that I should be reading better titles to my children. I should be reading award-winning books to them.
