I took piano lessons for several years as a child and as I got older I got busy with other things; sports, friends, choir and piano got swept to the side. I always wish I could go back and continue in learning to play the piano as I feel after years of learning I can only remember the basics and a few simple tunes. My piano is still at my mom’s house and both of the kids love to sit at it and “play” songs. I have often considered piano lessons for the kids as I know the positive effects music can have on children. Free Piano Lessons 4 Kids could be a fantastic start! Free, online piano lessons teaching everything from reading music to technique! I might even be able to brush up on some of my skills and continue my learning where I left off! is not only for kids, it is for anyone wanting to learn piano!Quality and fun piano instruction from the comfort of your own home…for free!

I provide online video piano lessons for free. The lessons are designed to be a alternative to traditional piano lessons for families who want quality piano lessons from an expert teacher. The lessons use the “Hoffman Method” which I have developed based on my Kodaly training. Not your “old-fashioned” approach to teaching piano, the Hoffman Method uses singing, solfege, movement, and experience-/discovery-based learning to create well-rounded, versatile child musicians. In addition to learning how to play songs on the piano, my video lessons teach how to read notes and rhythms, correct playing technique and posture/hand position, how to dictate melodies and rhythms, how to transpose, music theory, improvisation, and composition.
FreePianoLessons4Kids is much more than learning to play a few songs on the piano. It is a complete musical training program, just like you would get if you went to a professional piano teacher. The #1 goal of FreePianoLessons4Kids is, of course, to teach you to play the piano. However, you will also be learning so much more, including:

  • Correct playing technique, posture and hand position
  • How to read and write notes on the grand staff (treble clef and bass clef)
  • How to read, write, and perform rhythms
  • How to listen to music and to dictate melodies
  • How to improvise and compose your own songs
  • The basics of music theory, including chords, key signatures, and more!
